Get up close and personal with over 100 farm animals at the largest and most unique farm animal petting area in Holmes County. The Petting Area at Hershberger's Farm and Bakery is a MUST-visit destination, especially if you are visiting with kids. Your admission gets you access to both the indoor and outdoor petting areas where you will find just about every type of farm animal you can imagine from Draft horses to miniature ponies and alpacas to sheep, there are literally hundreds of animals to pet, feed, and interact with.
The petting area is open Monday-Saturday starting at 10:00 AM from March through December each year with special events throughout the year like Pig Day, Bunny Day, Big King's Birthday, Draft Horse Day, Donkey Day, and more.
When you visit, make sure to take a stroll through the outdoor areas where you will find even more animals...and don't miss the Parakeet Aviary that holds roughly 700 brightly colored budgies that will eat right out of your hands. In fact, most of the farm animals will appreciate a snack, and animal feed and carrots are available for purchase.
Draft horse rides, pony rides, and buggy rides are offered daily as well. This petting area is truly a one-of-a-kind experience you won't want to miss.
